PHC Construction - A Butler Builder

PHC Construction has become affiliated with Butler Manufacturing as a Butler Builder®. The full-service construction company will pursue projects in a primary trade area extending from West Sound across the Olympic Peninsula, throughout Kitsap, Clallam, Jefferson, Grays Harbor and Mason counties.

PHC president Marty Sievertson foresees exceptional opportunities for PHC Construction in the Butler Builder affiliation. “Butler offers a new paradigm for the metal building industry,” remarked Sievertson. “Their product fits together with such high precision that we can provide an outstanding building in a significantly reduced construction time frame.”

The economies, speed of construction and low-maintenance of “systems” buildings have steadily increased the use of metal building systems for private, government and institutional projects. PHC Construction will now customize and supply Butler’s variety of fully integrated steel structural, metal roof and wall panel systems. The panel systems can enclose an entire building or combine with other wall materials.

Systems are well suited for projects designed and built in accord with the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program administered by the U S Green Building Council. PHC Construction has a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) on staff and intends to specialize in the high-performance design and construction standards that produce healthier, more energy efficient buildings. PHC Construction is currently involved with the seven buildings comprising the Island Gateway commercial development, all of which are designed and will be built to LEED criteria. PHC’s new office, once a truck maintenance facility, was refurbished and built to LEED Gold standards.

PHC will also supply Butler’s standing seam metal system for its wide variety of construction projects. PHC recently installed the roofing system on the new Kid’s Discovery Museum on Bainbridge Island. The patented standing seam metal roof system, widely noted for exceptional weathertightness, was introduced by Butler in 1969 and has been used on projects in all climates throughout the world.

PHC Construction is presently planning a 16,000 square foot office building in Kitsap County that will be constructed using Butler’s steel framing and panel systems.
